The Daily Frail Episode 11

Today we play and sing “Less Of Me”, a song Glen Campbell arranged from “A Creed“,  a poem by Edward Albert Guest that is very similar St. Ignatius Loyola’s “Prayer for Generosity“.

Stuff like this is why folk singers need to be well read. Every work is inspired by earlier works. Dig deep enough and God only know knows what you will find!

Less Of Me
Arranged by Glen Campbell from the poem “A Creed” by Edgar Albert Guest.

C F C G
Let me be a little kinder let me be a little blinder
       F G
To the faults of those around me let me praise a little more
       C F C G
Let me be when I am weary just a little bit more cheery
        F G C
Think a little more of others and a little less of me

Let me be a little braver when temptation bids me waver
Let me strive a little harder to be all that I should be
Let me be a little meeker with the brother who is weaker
Think a little more of others and a little less of me

Let me be when I am weary just a little bit more cheery
Let me serve a little better those that I am striving for
Let me be a little meeker with the brother who is weaker
Think a little more of others and a little less of me

C F C G7
Let me be a little meeker with the brother that is weaker
        F G7 C
Think a little more of others and a little less of me
